Artist Information

Applications for the 2024 event are now open. APPLY HERE.

Artists working with a variety of media are invited to apply to participate in Artsclamation! each year. Members of the Artsclamation! jury then review applications and select artists to invite to the show. Artists, including painters, photographers, jewelers, fiber artists, woodworkers and sculptors, participate in each year’s show. A percentage of each artist’s sales is donated to Peninsula. One artist is selected each year as Featured Artist for the show. A featured piece, created by that artist, is donated to Peninsula, used in promotional materials for the event, and sold at the Preview Party.

Supporting Mental Health in East Tennessee

One in four people in East Tennessee suffer from a mental health illness. However, there is a significant gap in funding for programs to serve these individuals compared to other diseases and diagnoses. Artsclamation! is Peninsula’s only fundraiser and helps to fill some of the gaps left in those funding sources. Proceeds in past years have funded garden courtyards for adult patients, vans for transporting clients in outpatient programs, play areas for hospitalized children, therapeutic games and activity supplies.

Elizabeth Clary, BSN, RN, MHA, vice president of behavioral health for Peninsula, noted how the community’s support of the art sale will help Peninsula meet a public health need.

“Peninsula relies heavily on proceeds from Artsclamation!,” she says. “We are good stewards of every dollar that is spent to provide care and treatment for those that need us. Funds from this event assist Peninsula with therapeutic spaces and activities for our patients that would otherwise not be an option.”

About the Fort Sanders Foundation

Formal philanthropic support of what was then known as Fort Sanders Presbyterian Hospital began in 1954. With the increase in charitable contributions, the Fort Sanders Foundation was established and charged with garnering support for the healthcare programs and services offered by Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. The Foundation’s first major fundraising campaign was to establish the Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center. It now supports several hospitals and other programs of Covenant Health.
