Congratulations to DAISY Award winner Paige Swann, a nurse in our complex medicine/pulmonary unit and a two-time DAISY Award recipient!. (Read her first nomination here.) Paige’s nomination came from a patient’s husband who wanted to commend Paige for going above and beyond to care for his wife while she was in the hospital. Her nominator said that she was a blessing and never entered the room without a smile on her face. Paige took the time to learn her patient’s entire journey that brought her to Fort Sanders Regional for treatment and made sure that her patient stayed focused on recovery. She even took the time when she wasn’t working to touch base with her patient just to see how she was doing. Paige’s nominator and his wife say they can’t thank Paige enough for her kindness and that she fully embodies excellence. We agree, and we thank you for all of your hard work, Paige!
