CMC Receives Assistance from Tennessee National Guard

Cumberland Medical Center, a member hospital of Covenant Health, welcomed nine staff from the Tennessee National Guard COVID Taskforce on Monday, September 20, 2021. The State of Tennessee is offering National Guard assistance for hospitals experiencing increases in overall volumes and staffing challenges, due in large part to the number of COVID-19 patients being hospitalized.

“We are extremely grateful for this additional support from our Tennessee National Guard,” said David Bunch, president and chief administrative officer for the hospital. “This is a critical time for hospitals all across our state and country as we continue to provide the best care possible for all of our patients and community.”

COVID-19 cases have continued to rise in the Cumberland Plateau region. A daily update of Cumberland Medical Center’s COVID-19 hospitalizations is posted on Covenant Health’s website in dashboard format and is updated weekdays at noon. The dashboard can be accessed at CovenantHealth.com/Covid-19-Dashboard. The web page also includes numbers from all the Covenant Health member hospitals.
