- About Us
Through advanced certification, healthcare professionals validate their mastery of skills, knowledge and abilities, and experience a sense of confidence and achievement. They also meet ongoing learning and practice requirements through recertification. Patients and families, employers and others all benefit from certification.
Certification demonstrates to patients and families that the staff providing care has demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills in their specialties. Certification and the continuing education required to maintain it also contribute to an environment of professionalism and a culture of retention. Certification is also a vehicle for hospitals to differentiate themselves and demonstrate that they have attracted the most skilled and experienced healthcare professionals.
Congratulations to these employees who recently earned advanced certifications:
Gail Bartolo, RN, BSN, coordinator of quality and care management, Parkwest Medical Center, and Melissa McCollough, RN, manager of quality and care management, Cumberland Medical Center, who became Certified Professionals in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ certification).
Kendall Freeman, RN, director of medical/surgical services at Fort Sanders Regional is now a Nurse Executive Advanced – Board Certified (NEA-BC).
