Covenant Health Morristown-Hamblen announces the birth of the hospital’s first baby of the new year, welcoming the little one into the world on Jan. 2, 2025.

Malakye Jackson, a healthy boy, arrived at 7:56 a.m., weighing 6 lbs., 15 oz., and measuring 19 inches. James Patenge, DO, an OB/GYN with Women’s Healthcare of Morristown, expertly delivered the New Year arrival. A dedicated team of nurses and staff helped Dr. Patenge ensure a smooth and safe birth. Proud parents Brooke and Anthony were overjoyed by the arrival of their baby boy.

The birth of the first baby of the new year is a cherished tradition at Covenant Health Morristown-Hamblen, symbolizing hope, joy, and new beginnings. To commemorate the occasion, the hospital presented the family with a special gift basket that included baby essentials and keepsakes.
