November 2025 – For the second consecutive year, Claiborne Health and Rehabilitation Center has been named a “Best Nursing Home” in America by U.S. News & World Report. The short- and long-term care facility, part of Covenant Health Claiborne, is part of only 19 percent of skilled nursing facilities in the country that earned a high-performing rating for 2026.

To create the “Best Nursing Homes of 2026” list, U.S. News & World Report evaluated nearly 15,000 nursing homes throughout the country. Claiborne Health and Rehabilitation Center was recognized for high performance in short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. U.S. News & World Report determined ratings for short-term rehabilitation based on 17 quality measures focusing on nurse staffing patient outcomes, facility deficiencies and processes of care. It determined ratings for long-term care based on 17 quality measures also surrounding nurse staffing and patient outcomes, as well as turnover of ownership and staff.

“I am proud of our Claiborne nursing home team and the compassionate care they provide every day,” said Gordon Lintz, chief administrative officer and president of Claiborne Health and Rehabilitation Center. “Receiving this recognition two years in a row shows our team’s focus on excellence and their dedication to treating our residents with the care and respect they deserve. Our team members consider the residents as family, and they care for them like family every day.”

Claiborne Health and Rehabilitation Center offers short- and long-term care for individuals who cannot care for themselves. The facility provides assistance with daily activities, such as bathing and dressing; physical, speech and occupational therapies; health services like mental health, vision and dental care; group activities and social services.

Fort Sanders Regional Transitional Care Unit, a sister facility of Claiborne Health and Rehabilitation Center, was also recognized for high performance in short-term rehabilitation.
