Covenant Health Named to Becker’s 2022 List of “60 Hospitals or Health Systems with Great Oncology Programs”

Covenant Health is pleased to announce its recognition on a national list of top oncology programs in the country. Becker’s Hospital Review, a publication for healthcare industry leaders, recently announced its 2022 list of “60 Hospitals or Health Systems with Great Oncology Programs,” which includes hospitals and health systems that are nationally recognized as top cancer care providers.

According to Becker’s, healthcare providers named to this list are “among the vanguard of cancer treatment and research in the country.” Hospitals and health systems named to the list are dedicated to expanding their oncology departments and regional cancer centers to improve local and national patient care.

“It’s an honor for Covenant Health to be included in the Becker’s list of top oncology programs,” said Jim VanderSteeg, president and CEO of Covenant Health. “We are committed to bringing the latest technologies and research available in cancer care to best serve our communities. The Becker’s recognition affirms our commitment to put our patients first, strive for excellence in everything we do, and position Covenant Health as the first and best choice for those we serve.”

Becker’s specifically highlighted Covenant Health’s comprehensive cancer services across Tennessee. Thompson Cancer Survival Center and Thompson Oncology Group, both members of Covenant Health, were also acknowledged for the number of locations available for care and their approach to delivering life-saving cancer treatments through a multidisciplinary team approach.

“Being recognized as one of the top oncology programs in the country affirms that Thompson Cancer Survival Center, a member of Covenant Health, provides the highest quality care available through our expert physicians, clinical teams and advanced treatment technologies,” said Scott Warwick, president and chief administrative officer of Thompson Cancer Survival Center. “By ensuring the highest standard of care available, we are improving patient outcomes across the region.”

As part of the evaluation process, Becker’s evaluated the cancer offerings of Covenant Health, its use of cutting-edge technologies, patient care and support, quality metrics, funding and other accreditations the health system holds.

Becker’s Healthcare provides business and legal information for healthcare industry leaders through five trade publications, including Becker’s Hospital Review. Becker’s Healthcare developed the “60 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Oncology Programs” list based on nominations and editorial research.
