August DAISY Award Winner- Richard Callaway

“There are nurses and then there are really good nurses. There are heroes and there are superheroes. But then there are lifesavers…..Richard Callaway is a lifesaver.” Those were the words used to describe our latest DAISY winner. Richard, a pulmonary nurse, was nominated by a patient’s parents for his compassionate care during their daughter’s recent medical scare. After a routine colonoscopy, she suffered serious complications, but Richard’s previous ER experience saved her life. His nominators said, “For many years to come, we expect we’ll be occasionally reminded of nurse Richard Calloway, and will shed a tear of gratitude for our lifesaver.” Congratulations Richard and thank you for your dedication to patient care!
