Methodist goes “All Heart” in a fun and educational luncheon event

Every minute of every day, heart disease claims the life of woman.  It is the number of killer of women – but it often goes overlooked.  Not only might the symptoms be difficult to recognize, but women often delay their own healthcare needs while taking care of their families.  So, the more women – especially younger women – learn about heart disease early, the better the odds of beating it. Speakers and models from Methodist's "Love Yourself with All Your Heart" give calls to action for all women about their heart health.

That’s why Methodist Medical Center’s Mommy2Mommy Network is encouraging every mom to “love yourself with all your heart!”  And last month, Methodist hosted a special heart health program during its February Mommy2Mommy monthly luncheon to help women focus on their risks and the things they can do every day to help prevent heart disease.

“Our Mommy2Mommy network brings new mothers together in a relaxed setting where they can make friends and learn about a variety of topics affecting them as parents – including staying healthy for their families,” says Cheryl Stallings, RN and Education Coordinator for Methodist’s Family Birthing Center.  “We wanted to dedicate our February luncheon to really focusing on heart health A light lunch is served with each Mommy2Mommy luncheon. and how we can make an impact for women.”Methodist's Mommy2Mommy encourages young mothers to bring their children to the monthly luncheon for fun networking opportunities for moms and kids alike!
