The Foundation is a separate, non-profit corporation which is governed by a volunteer board of Directors, each of whom is a recognized leader in the communities MMC serves. The members donate their time, talents, expertise, insights, and financial support. Board members are responsible for ensuring the Foundation is an efficient, cost-effective organization that is fully accountable for the philanthropic funds entrusted to it.
The Foundation has two full-time staff members - a director of development and a development coordinator - who perform many key functions necessary for its continued success:

Acorn Classic makes a hole-in-one

The Methodist Medical Center Foundation hosted the 9th Annual Acorn Classic at the Oak Ridge Country Club on October 12. The golf tournament raised over $18,000 to support crucial patient care programs at the Wellness Place, which includes outpatient education and support for individuals with congestive heart failure and diabetes.

For 13 years, the Hospitality Houses have provided a home away from home for patients and their families who come to MMC for treatment. Thanks to the community’s generosity during the 2009 Holiday Lights campaign, the houses will continue to provide lodging, food and comfort to the guests who pass through their doors.
