Courtney - First baby of 2000

Charlene and Cheu Moua of Oak Ridge are parents of the first baby born in 2000 in the greater Knoxville area. They welcomed a daughter, Courtney, into the world at 12:35 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 1 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Courtney weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces and is 21 inches long. She has two older sisters, Savannah, 31/2, and Valerie, 11/2. Richard Brazzel, M.D., an obstetrician/gynecologist with Tennessee Valley
Ob/Gyn Associates in Clinton, was the attending physician.
LeMarqus Jayce Moore, son of Lenora Moore of Harriman and Adam Wester of Rockwood, was the last baby born at Methodist in 1999. He arrived at 11:22 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 31 weighing 6 pounds, 12 ounces. He is 21 inches long. Rosalind Cadigan, M.D., an obstetrician/gynecologist with Women’s Health Associates in Oak Ridge, was the attending physician.
Methodist Medical Center is honoring the last baby of 1999 and first baby of 2000 and their families with variety of gifts, including a car seat from the Family Birthing Center and gift certificates, savings bonds, toys, food and baby items donated by area businesses
and individuals.
As the last baby of 1999, LeMarqus Moore also will receive a silver star on the “Star is Born” wall in the birthing center, while Courtney Moua will receive a gold star. The wall contains more than
160 large yellow stars inscribed with the names and birth dates of people born at the hospital since 1944.
