Dr. Ronald H. Lands
onald H. Lands, M.D., F.A.C.P., has been named Methodist Medical Center vice president for medical affairs.

Dan Bonk, president and chief administrative officer of MMC, said he is "pleased to have Dr. Lands join our administrative staff in this part time role to further work with our physicians. He is someone with integrity, well respected by his peers, who understands that the patient is the priority here."

Lands said his role is separate but complementary to the traditional elected medical staff officer's roles, providing clinical input into administrative decisions impacting the delivery of health care for MMC patients. He also will remain active in the hospital's quality improvement processes as well as other activities related to quality and data management.

A Rockwood native, Lands received his undergraduate degree from Tennessee Technological University. He received his medical training at the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences (UTCHS), Memphis. He completed a fellowship there in hematology/oncology as well as a residency in internal medicine. He is board certified in internal medicine, oncology and hematology, geriatrics and hospice/palliative medicine. He practices with Cumberland Oncology & Hematology.

Lands is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
