motional upsets may sometimes seem to be an unsolvable mystery. By learning the A-B-C framework of emotional upsets, you can begin to unravel the mystery, according to Pamela Whitworth, a psychologist on the staff of Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Dr. Whitworth will explain the framework of emotional upsets and discuss the relationship between beliefs and feelings at an upcoming Women's Center brown bag lunch program. "ABCs of Emotional Upsets" is free, and it will be held Thursday, July 22 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. in the Methodist Medical Center lobby.
The guest speaker is in practice with Solway Counseling Associates in Knoxville, where she works with adults, adolescents and groups. She holds a doctorate in education/counseling and psychology from St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO, and is a member of the American Psychological Association, Tennessee Psychological Association, American Counseling Association, and Atlanta Group Psychotherapy Society.
Bring your lunch to the July 22 program; beverages will be provided. For more information, call Women's Center director Flavia Getty at 481-1828.
