ickie Bohanan, a certified nursing assistant at the Fort Sanders Sevier Nursing Home, was one of 17 recipients who received special recognition at the 15th Annual Alzheimer's Disease Research Symposium held on June 8 in Gatlinburg.
The Eastern Tennessee Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association recognized outstanding certified nursing and personal care to those who have dementia. This recognition, appropriately named Caring Hearts, celebrates the commitment to Alzheimer's care.
Bohanan was a guest at the symposium, which was followed by the luncheon presentation. She received a custom-designed Caring Hearts pin accompanied by a certificate of recognition.
The Alzheimer's Association plans to make this program an annual event to recognize other candidates in future years.
