Memory Walk Raises Money for Alzheimer's Association

  • he Five County Regional Memory Walk to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association will be held Sunday, Sept. 26 at the Oak Ridge Civic Center. The 5k walk begins at 2 p.m. Walkers representing Anderson, Roane, Morgan, Scott, and Campbell Counties will be participating in the event.

    Honorary chairman for the fourth annual walk is performer James Rogers who will sing "Find the Way," a song he wrote for his father.

    In 1998 the walk raised $22,824. Proceeds are used to fund services benefiting families who have loved ones with Alzheimer's.

    Anyone wishing to participate should call 544-6464 for details and registration.

    Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge and several other Oak Ridge businesses are sponsors of this year's walk in Anderson County.
