Fort Sanders Therapy Centers Receive More Recognition For Excellence

 ort Sanders Therapy Centers at Powell, Halls and West, members of Covenant Health, have been awarded Outcomes Excellence Certificates from Focus On Therapeutic Outcomes, Inc. (FOTO), a nationwide outcomes database and for health care providers. These certificates are presented to a select group of providers across the country to recognize their excellence achieved in effectiveness of treatment during the four consecutive quarters ending March 1999.
 Fort Sanders Therapy Centers have demonstrated a greater increase in function for their patients than the national aggregate average. Of the more than 800 facilities across the country participating in FOTO, only 90 clinics received this award. That puts these Fort Sanders Therapy Centers in approximately the top 10 percent of all participating facilities.
This marks the second consecutive outcomes award certificates for Fort Sanders Therapy Center West (located off Kingston Pike near Mabry Hood Road). The West clinic was also recognized with a certificate of excellence for the four consecutive quarters ending in December 1998. Fort Sanders Therapy Center in the Newland Professional Building adjacent to Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center also received recognition recently from FOTO for outcomes excellence.
"Our referring physicians have been asking for outcomes data and our clinics have worked hard to exceed the national average on outcomes," said Lucy Gregory, director of ortho-neuro-rehab for Fort Sanders Therapy Centers. "Fort Sanders Therapy Centers are leading the way in clinical excellence to benefit the patients and physicians we serve."
FOTO has provided outcome data to healthcare providers since 1994. Al Amato, FOTO's President says that "Fort Sanders Therapy Centers has proven the quality of their care by exceeding the average performance data of all the progressive organizations across the country who are a part of the FOTO network." FOTO is recognized as a performance measurement system by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
Fort Sanders Therapy Centers is the largest provider of outpatient rehabilitation services in East Tennessee, with 19 clinics in a nine county region.
