The Fellowship Center (FSRMC, TCSC campus)
The Fellowship Center is an outpatient-lodging center. Since 1984, this "little bit of home" has aided families in coping with serious illnesses. In 1992, through the generosity of the Lucille S. Thompson Family Foundation, the program was expanded from four to eighteen furnished apartments plus a family room and laundry.
These apartments are provided free of charge by Covenant Health. The Fellowship Center served 1,031 guests in 2001 from as many as 21 states and one foreign country. 7,120 nights of free lodging including three meals per week and an open pantry were shared with patients and families. Staff members are available to answer questions, transport patients to their treatments and anything else that is required to make their stay as comfortable as possible.
The Fellowship Center's mission is to provide lodging and supportive services free of charge in a caring environment for outpatients and families receiving medical treatment away from home.
The Fellowship Center concept is to provide an integrated supportive atmosphere that promotes healing. This is accomplished by providing opportunities for guests to be together. They work together during the largest portion of the day while they are not receiving treatment.
