Brain Injury Day Treatment Program
At The Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center

The Brain Injury Day Treatment Program is an outpatient program designed to address deficits that may impede a brain injury survivor's maximum recovery in the areas of intellectual, emotional, and social functioning.
Treatment Modalities:
- Individual (1:1) treatment
- Workbook activities specific to patient's deficits
- Group problem-solving
- Stress management training and practice
- Pragmatic/social skills retraining
- Life management skills retraining
- Supervised community outings arranged by patients
- Emotional rehabilitation group (led by Neuropsychologist)
Admission Criteria:
- Patient must have a brain injury secondary to trauma, stroke or disease.
- Patient must be independent with transfers and toileting.
- It is recommended that the patient be three (3) months post injury, have previously received some type of rehabilitative therapy, and be documented Ranchos Level VIII or above.
- Patient must not exhibit severe or disruptive anger, anxiety, or depression; mild or moderate levels are acceptable.
- Patient must be at least 18 years of age
Patient must have recently (within one year) received a neuropsychological evaluation or be willing to do so.
