Health & Safety

Nanny's is now "Three Star Accredited" by the State of Tennessee Department of Human Services.

At Nanny's…

  • Every possible consideration is given to the protection of the health and safety of the children enrolled.
  • A detailed infection control policy is followed by all staff and in all procedures.
  • All foods are properly stored and dishes are cleaned in a method approved by the Tennessee Department of Health.
  • The building is cleaned and sanitized on a daily basis.
  • Monthly fire drills and bi-monthly safety drills are included in the program and all regulations of the State Fire Marshall have been met.
  • Teacher-child ratios meet or are lower than state requirements.
  • All staff and children are required to have a physical examination and all staff is required to pass a drug test and background check prior to employment or admittance. New employees also undergo fingerprinting and TBI checks.
  • All teaching staff are trained in CPR, emergency procedures, First Aid, and child abuse detection.
  • A detailed emergency procedure is part of all staff training. A copy of this procedure is posted in each room.
  • Parking lot safety is best assured by parking in the spaces provided and observing the 15-mph speed zone. Please avoid parking at the front door in the fire line and in handicap parking places.
  • The parking lot is a one-way drive. Please observe the signs and arrows. Watch for visitors and guests who are not familiar with the correct flow of traffic.
  • If children go directly to breakfast in the morning, parents must first stop at the sink and wash the child's hands with soap and water per DHS requirements.
  • It's the parent's responsibility to keep phone numbers and information on emergency cards current. New cards will be issued with June promotions.
  • A security code number is given to the family upon enrollment. Please use the code on the small keypad nearest the outside front door. Be aware that when you enter the code, you release both sets of inner doors and any child pushing on a door from the inside would then be able to exit the building.
  • No child should leave Nanny's with adults who do not have appropriate child restraint devices for transportation. See the front desk if you need to borrow one.
  • Nanny's has 24-hour security coverage with security officers located on campus.
