Volunteer Plaque

Plaque Recognizes Parkwest Volunteers

Parkwest Medical Center recently recognized past and current volunteers with a new plaque highlighting volunteers with more than 2500 hours of service. This plaque honoring their exceptional service is on permanent display near the main entrance.

Our volunteers are a valuable member of our healthcare team according to Missy Sanford, Director of Clinical Effectiveness, Regulatory Compliance and Quality at Parkwest.

“We are appreciative of their continued commitment and dedication to our organization. It is thrilling to note the hours and years of service many of these volunteers have given to Parkwest through the years,” she added.

The plaque currently lists the names of 48 volunteers with 2500 hours up to over 25,000 hours. An added feature of the “living” plaque is that it can be updated as the volunteer’s number of hours increase and new volunteers reaching 2500 hours are added.

Current volunteers Margaret Bluford and Katherine Roberts lead the way in total hours with 28,146 and 12,068 respectively. Longevity volunteer Dewdrop Rule, with 34 years of service and still volunteering, started soon after Parkwest opened in 1973 as one of its first volunteers.
