Dance Your Heart Out!
Performers of all ages will once again converge at College Square Mall as Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System encourages movement for heart health. “Dance Your Heart Out” is Saturday, Feb. 9. This event combines the fun of dancing, unique exercise, and other performances to focus on dance and alternative exercise as ways to take steps for a healthier life.
During Heart Month, it is important to remember that movement is key to keeping your heart healthy. If done on a regular basis as a form of exercise, many health benefits result including weight maintenance or weight loss, blood pressure and cholesterol management (lowering), increased energy, decreased sadness and depression, increased coordination and muscle strength, and an overall sense of well-being.
In addition to the performances, MHHS will be on site for free health screenings and consumer education on heart disease and other important health topics. “Our goal for the day is simple: encourage movement for heart health and encourage people to know their important numbers as they pertain to heart health by participating in the free health screenings,” says Pam Snyder, director of marketing at MHHS.
Catch the action and take advantage of the free screenings from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at no cost. To find out more about “Dance Your Heart Out,” call (423) 492-6050.
