      Cardiac Care

      Excellence in Cardiac Care

In matters of the heart, Covenant Health stands strong.   Covenant Health hospitals perform more open heart surgeries than any other health system in the area.

With nationally-recognized clinical expertise and world-class technology, the hospitals provide comprehensive state-of-the-art care from the latest emergency intervention to diagnosis and treatment, and through rehabilitation and recovery.

Covenant Health hospitals are leaders in cardiac care.  Parkwest Medical Center has been repeatedly recognized as a Top 100 Heart Hospital.  Methodist Medical Center has pioneered life-saving techniques in robotic heart repair.  Fort Sanders Regional’s emergency response time is 30 minutes faster than the national standard.  Together with Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center, Fort Sanders Loudoun Medical Center and Roane Medical Center, the heart hospitals of Covenant Health share expertise and best practices to do more to improve the quality of care than they could as individual organizations.

The physicians and nurses of Covenant Health work together to promote early detection of heart attack, which can save lives.   Covenant Health was one of the first to bring the issue of women and heart disease to the community with the launch of a multi-faced women’s heart initiative in 2002.   Today Covenant Health consistently offers heart health classes, cholesterol screenings, blood pressure checks and other programs to educate the community about prevention and early detection of heart disease.
